| ZOSTAVAX Before you get Shingles, ask about the shingles vaccine. Our pharmacists administer the Zostavax vaccine for all patients, whether they are already Rann Pharmacy customers or have never been in our store, whose doctor recommends it. Medicare usually covers the cost of the shot and the $25 administration fee. Other insurances may cover the medication, but not the fee. 1. First visit your doctor to determine if you are a good candidate for the shot, and have him/her write a prescription for the Zostavax vaccine. 2. Call our pharmacist and make an appointment to receive the shot. Have your insurance information ready before you call. We can tell you over the phone what the final cost will be, but only if you have all of the information ready. 3. Arrive a couple minutes early for your appointment. Go directly to the pharmacy counter. Remember to bring your insurance information and the prescription. We cannot administer the shot without these two items. 4. Once you have received the shot, you will be asked to stay in the store for a few minutes to make sure there are no adverse reactions. Then you are free to go! 5. | FLU VACCINES Our pharmacists administer the flu vaccine every year. Most flu vaccines are given beginning in September, but you can be vaccinated any time throughout the flu season. 1. Decide if you are a good candidate to receive the flu vaccine (contact your doctor or our pharmacist with any questions). 2. Come into Rann Pharmacy and go to the pharmacy counter any time during flu season Monday through Friday, 9-4, and ask for a flu shot. 3. The cost is $25 per shot. Insurance usually does not cover the injection, but we will give you receipts to submit to your insurance company on your own. |
